What's New with the Scorpions?
Martin Mroz showed an incredible performance last week and was named the Division A PLAYER OF THE WEEK! He set career and CCB highs in points, blocks, assists, steals and rebounds! He now leads the team in Points Per Game, Rebounds Per Game and Steals Per Game!

Interviews after Game 1:
KARL LESCHINSKY
1: Martin Mroz was the man out there today for you guys what do you have to say about his perforance/
A: Incredible. Phenomanal. Amazing. He was our MVP for the day, but I still felt it we had a great team effort. But no doubt he certainly showed hes got game.
2: After one day you already have a better record than last season, what do you think this tells about this new Scorpions team?
A: That we're serious about winning it all. No jokes anymore. You take as a joke now and we'll see who gets the last laugh. But there's still a lot more of basketball to be played so we shouldnt get over confident.
3: The Scorpions crowd can't wait to see you perform at the level you left off at, and let's face it when Mroz played as well as he did today there was no need for you too do so, but without him next week how muchdo you think you'll have to do to carry the team?
A: I'd rather the whole team steps it up a notch, and everyone works together to fill in the hole we have wihout him, but i know I wasn't showing my phenom side today-and one way or another I know I'll have to let it out next week if we want to win.
4: What do you make of the other player's performances other than you and Martin?
A: Brandon was great, did what he needed, but I hope he's more confident in terms of shooting next week, I think it wouldn't hurt him to shoot more, and he'll need to do it next week but otherwise flawless performance, Jon will be back to nomral next week I'm sure, he was kinda rushed into this game. Micah I thought did a great job, offensively and defensively, and he needs to keep it up. Mikey wasn;t half bad either, and Brendan should be great next week.
5: What is the best feature of the 2003 Scorpions squad after week 1?
A: Our defense and rebounding I think is amongst the leages best from what I've seen. We're scrappy and tough on defense, fight for every loose ball- our scoring is obviously improved as well, but I think our defense is what saved us from Jules and the Falcons and Jon and the Dragons today.
